  1. Any tips for when ADHD in the workplace starts to look like workaholism? Trying to meet deadlines seems to mean that I need to put in way more hours than the standard workday allows and this is impacting my life and work-life balance to the exclusion of only being able to just do what I need for my job and nothing else. This is affecting my relationships as I do not have time to spend with my partner and resent the time I lose to being with them when my mind tells me I should be working at 10 pm after already doing 15 hours of work.

  2. What do you recommend for my ADHD Partner who is really good at her job, enjoys the work she does, gets high praise from her bosses and colleagues, yet requires 12-16 hours per day, 6 or 7 days a week to get it done to the exclusion of everything else?

  3. I like MJ’s post with questions regarding what to do for a career, as I’ve felt the exact same way and have also been in the workforce for about the same length of time. I also cannot retire and I am currently trying to work a home based business, as I can set my own schedule and do not have a “boss” that will eventually hate me and fire me. I have problems keeping jobs although I am dependable, reliable and work hard to get things done. I have also had a variety of jobs spanning different industries and do not enjoy any of them enough to consider doing them for the remainder of my life. I truly understand the struggle in getting out of bed to go to work, even when things are going well at the current position that I’ve found myself in.

  4. What do you do when you have had a variety of jobs over more than 30 years and have hated every single one, but can’t afford to stay home or retire? What happens when you really just don’t like do anything enough to make a career out of it, or when even the things you enjoy aren’t things you’d want to do all day every day? What do you do when every job you’ve ever had makes you feel sick to your stomach every morning at the thought of having to go to work, even when the work itself is something you would normally enjoy doing on your own time?
