Picking a Summer Camp Program
From “campfire camps” to recreational programs, begin your search with these resources for finding a summer program for your child.

It’s possible to hire a special education consultant to help you figure out where to send your child for the summer. But you should be able to settle on the right place all by yourself. The key, experts say, is to seek input from everyone who is well acquainted with your child — teachers, therapists, doctors, other parents, and so on. And don’t forget to ask your child what he thinks.
Consider whether your child is ready to be away from home (if a sleep-away program is on the table). And think about how much academic support your child needs — and whether he needs help controlling his behavior.
